The WNBA is looking into reports of racial remarks made toward Angel Reese by fans during the Chicago Sky's loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Saturday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The source, who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity, said the league has not yet publicly named who was targeted or who reported the incident.
"The WNBA firmly denounces all forms of racism, hatred, and discrimination, stating that such behavior is unacceptable both within the league and in society at large. The league acknowledged the allegations and said it is currently investigating the situation.
On Monday, after practice, Clark addressed the allegations publicly for the first time. She explained that it was too noisy inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse for her to hear any racially charged remarks aimed at Reese and expressed her support for the league’s ongoing investigation."
