I don’t know about you, but here’s my honest take on our 2-0 win against Manchester City at Old Trafford

That was comfortably our best performance of the season. We didn’t just beat City, we outplayed them in every phase. 

On another day, it could genuinely have been 5 or 6. A rare clean sheet against the best attack in the league, built on intensity, aggression, and total control.

Lisandro Martínez was immense, setting the tone with authority and composure. 

Patrick Dorgu produced his best performance in a United shirt, Bruno Fernandes was pure class throughout, and Kobbie Mainoo handled his first Premier League start with real maturity. 

Harry Maguire continued his excellent run, Cunha brought real energy off the bench, and Mbeumo delivered a clutch finish when it mattered most.

The only reason the scoreline stayed respectable was Gianluigi Donnarumma, who stopped City from real embarrassment. 

The only real negative on our end was being caught offside too often but even that came from how aggressively we pushed the game.

The effort and intensity from the players were unreal. This felt like Manchester United again. 

Full credit to Michael Carrick for setting the tone and getting everything right, and credit to everyone inside Old Trafford, the atmosphere was special and clearly lifted the team.

Carrick has now taken charge of four interim games for United. He has now beaten Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta, Unai Emery, and drawn with Thomas Tuchel.
