Fr. Emmanuel Terungwa Asue Tyukwa was born to Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian Asue in the late 1970s. He hails from Tyowanye, a small but renowned town in Buruku LGA, Benue State, Nigeria.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
At an early age, Fr. Emmanuel attended Robert F. Kennedy Nursery and Primary School in Gboko, Benue Statbe. After completing his primary education, he proceeded to St. James Minor Seminary, initially located in Aliade and later relocated to its permanent site in Yandev, Gboko, for his secondary education. His calling to the Catholic priesthood began with his admission to the Makurdi Diocese Spiritual Year Programme (now St. Charles Lwanga Seminary) in 1997. In 1998, he moved to St. Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary, Makurdi, where he completed his priestly training.
In 2007, having completed his studies in Philosophy and Theology, Fr. Emmanuel was ordained a Catholic priest under the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi by the late Bishop Athanasius Atule Usuh. He became a priest of the Gboko Diocese upon its creation in December 2012.
PASTORAL EXPERIENCE
Since his ordination, Fr. Emmanuel has served at Christ the King Parish in Vandeikya, St. Mary’s Parish in North Bank, Makurdi, and St. Michael’s Catholic Rectory in Bua, Ameladu, Gboko. He is currently the priest at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Selagi, Konshisha, all in Benue State.
Fr. Emmanuel’s Adoration Prayer Ministry began at St. Michael’s Catholic Rectory in Bua, Ameladu, Gboko. Through divine inspiration, his ministry has brought people closer to God, emphasizing deliverance and liberation from spiritual bondage. His ministry focuses on the virtues of holiness, worship, and love.
Since his ordination, Fr. Emmanuel has led masses for the sick and needy, which gained attention while he served at St. Michael’s Catholic Rectory in Ameladu. The Adoration and Prayer Ministry conducts weekly Adoration Prayers every Monday night and an All-Night Adoration on the last Friday of each month, streamed live on all ministry social media platforms.
Fr. Emmanuel is also the Director (Priest in Charge) of the Selagi Project at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Gaav, Konshisha LGA, Benue State, Nigeria.
HOBBIES
Fr. Emmanuel enjoys playing football, listening to gospel music, reading, and sharing the Word of God.
PUBLICATIONS
Fr. Emmanuel has authored two books: The Word That Changes Lives and Spiritual Revolution, which emphasize the transformative power of God’s Word.
