Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse call for Stakeholder Meeting Seeks Solutions to End Bloodshed in Benue State

A crucial stakeholder meeting was convened in Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse (Tor Tiv) palace in Gboko local Government Area to address the persistent killings and violence that have plagued the region. The meeting, attended by representatives from various sectors, aimed to identify the root causes of the conflict and develop a comprehensive plan to restore peace and stability to the affected communities.

Benue State has been embroiled in a cycle of violence, with recurrent attacks on innocent civilians in Ukum, Logo, Naka Otukpo, and Sankera jato Aka, particularly farmers, by fulani militias. The conflict has resulted in the loss of countless lives, displacement of people, and destruction of property. The state government, in collaboration with federal authorities, has been working to contain the situation, but the killings have continued unabated.
