Erik ten Hag might have made plenty of mistakes at United, but he also deserves credit for some of the best signings we’ve had in years.

Take Lisandro Martínez, came in and instantly became a fan favourite, many calling him our best defender in a long time.

Leny Yoro, signed under Ten Hag, is already seen as untouchable and even a future captain.

Kobbie Mainoo may be an academy product, but Ten Hag was the one who trusted him at such a young age and that decision has paid off.

Even Mason Mount, who was doubted at first, is now an important player under Amorim, but Ten Hag brought him in.

Then there’s De Ligt and Mazraoui, both now seen as bargain signings after strong starts.

Beyond signings, Ten Hag also dealt with some of the worst injury crises we’ve seen, often missing half the squad. Still, he managed to win two trophies and reach four finals.

Yes, he got things wrong. But he also gave us a squad full of players we can now build on. For that, he deserves some credit.
