I’m sorry to say this, but Matheus Cunha still looks like he isn’t yet ready to play with the team.

His first three games were lovely to watch, but since then he’s been obsessed with scoring. And the more you force goals, the less they come.

A forward’s job isn’t just about scoring, it’s about creating space, linking play, and helping teammates find chances. Do that, and the goals will come naturally.

That’s why Amorim’s decision to start Mount over Cunha against Sunderland was spot on. 

Mount’s brilliant movement and finish from Mbeumo’s cross set the tone and eased all the tension at Old Trafford inside eight minutes. 

That’s what playing for the team looks like. 

Cunha has the quality, no doubt. But he needs to calm down, play for the system, and the goals will come.
